What kind of training do you offer at Leash & Learn?
We offer personalised, empathy-led training designed to meet your dog’s emotional and behavioural needs. Sessions are tailored for puppies, adolescents, rescue dogs, and senior companions, using positive reinforcement and freework to build trust and understanding. This is a frequently asked question?

What kind of training do you offer at Leash & Learn?
Cooperative care helps dogs feel safe and supported during everyday handling - like grooming, vet visits, and nail trims. It’s about teaching dogs to participate willingly, reducing stress and building confidence through gentle, trust-based techniques.
Do you work with dogs who have behavioural challenges?
Yes. We support dogs experiencing anxiety, reactivity, fear-based behaviours, and more. Our approach is strategic and compassionate, helping guardians understand the root of their dog’s behaviour and build lasting change through clear communication.
Where do you offer sessions?
Leash & Learn proudly services Newcastle and the Hunter Valley. If you're outside these areas, feel free to get in touch - we may still be able to support you depending on your location and needs.
What is ‘freework’, and how does it help?
Freework is a gentle, observational tool that allows dogs to explore different textures, scents and movement at their own pace. It helps reveal emotional states, preferences, and stress signals - giving guardians deeper insight into their dogs behaviours.
How do I know which session is right for me and my dog?

What are my payment options?
Payment is required at the time of booking, accepting bank transfer. We will provide all payment details once your session is confirmed. If you have questions or need support with payment, just reach out - we’re happy to help.
What do I need to prepare before a session?
Once your session is booked, we’ll send you a short intake form to learn more about your dog and your goals. You don’t need any special equipment - just a safe space, your dog’s favourite treats, and a willingness to learn together. If you’re unsure what to expect, we’ll walk you through everything beforehand.
